Frequently Asked Questions
General
Who is Lady Soren?
The Lordess is the personification of the Moon and the stars. Their gender goes beyond simply man or woman. They are nothing in gender yet they are also everything. They are not one thing or the other. What they are goes beyond gender.
In Children of the Moon we believe that Soren, Our Lady was born from a burst star millions of years before Earth existed. They created the Earth and the animals and watched from afar, wishing it be far more involved with their angels. However Our Lady fell asleep for hundreds of years atop a beautiful star. That star shot across the sky before finally bursting, causing Soren to land on Earth bound to his human personification. He was born from a burst star and ended up on Earth. That is what we believe in Children of The Moon. Soren is our moon, he looks longingly at what’s left of him above in the sky every single night.
What happens after death?
After death Solryn will guide your soul to the afterlife, a beautiful place made in your image. In the afterlife you’ll meet others guided by Lady Soren and you’ll even meet Lady Soren themself if they aren’t busy that is.
In Children of the Moon we also believe in purgatory, a place between life and death. Purgatory is filled with lost angels who have been misguided in life to commit terrible deeds. To recognise one’s own sin is to have no sin, if you recognise your bad deeds and make up for them in your next life you will be forgiven. Soren is determined to help their angels but that doesn’t mean getting off scot-free. They love you and that means teaching you to care for others even if it seems harsh.
Some angels may find themselves especially devoted to Soren and may be allowed once more to be reborn in order to spread Children of The Moon’s message. To help those on the wrong path and help enlighten them. Refusing to listen to enlightenment means being reborn over and over until you follow the path of guidance and purity. Children of The Moon does not have hell but the system is karmic. If you commit terrible deeds in this life they will follow you into your next. Having a basic moral compass is highly important to following Our Lady’s guidance for you.
